A beautiful setting for a wedding... Bar Harbor Inn's Porcupine Room

I couldn't resist.  I was walking out of my office to go to the Reservations office when I noticed that the Porcupine Room was decorated for a wedding.  I had to check it out, wow, it of course is prettier in person, but I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pictures to share with you.  Porcupine Balcony 6

The bride chose to have the ceremony out on the balcony and the reception in the room.

Beautiful Wedding Cakes from Bar Harbor Maine

I found myself wanting to order a wedding cake the other day just because it was so beautiful - I don't know if I could have eaten it or just looked at it!  Curious?, click on the link and check out the oval shell wedding cake (decorated with shells, coral, etc.)! You will understand what I am saying!

When I was younger, I always wanted to have my wedding ceremony on the beach (yes in the sand), back then everyone said "no way", that's not a good thing.  Today, it happens and it is a beautiful thing!  Even to have the ceremony on an area such as the Bar Harbor Inn lawns with Frenchmen Bay in the background - it's actually breathtaking!

I even thought at one time how nice it would be to go out on a boat (like the Margaret Todd, on the Bar Harbor Inn pier), have the ceremony out in the water and come back for a reception in the Porcupine Room at the Inn at sunset. How beautiful...
