Each month during our season we vote on and pick an employee that has shown exceptional workmanship, is a team player and offers to the guests an added value.

For the month of October, Chris, our Groundskeeper has won the honor.  Chris, Congratulations! You have have done a fabulous job this year and deserve this award!  Please look through some pictures on the blog of the gardens Chris has created this season.

The Bar Harbor Inn Gift Shop is Now Online!

Great news for anyone that enjoys shopping in the Bar Harbor Inn Gift shop while on vacation here - you can now shop from home as well!!

If you are like me, after I go home I think "I should have bought that item while I was there!"

We have worked and are still working on adding new items to the online gift shop.  Take a look and see if we have what you need (or want).  Let us know if you want something we do not have.

Of course, we still enjoy seeing you in person shopping!

August Employee of the Month at the Bar Harbor Inn

For the month of August, Emilie, one of our Servers has won that honor.  Congratulations Emilie, you certainly do deserve it!!

Cruise Ship in Bar Harbor

Yesterday, August 5th, we had a cruise ship out in the ocean near the Bar Harbor Inn.  What a beautiful site, the ship "The Explorer of the Seas", is one of Royal Caribbean's and is 1020' long, carries 3114 passengers and 1185 crew!  I'll never understand how they can get them to float!

Reminds me of a story I have heard of here that one morning people woke up to find a ship in the harbor without any warning! Please go to the history category to learn more.

My friend and I had to go out in the early morning to take a look and a few pictures.  The ship is quite impressive. She was a little more on the creative side with the camera... take a look:

Bar Harbor Inn Flower Gardens are Spectacular!

Yes, I'm hearing it all around the property, the flowerbeds are gorgeous!  Guests, visitors in town, people from all around are walking the property to look at the beautiful flowers.  Thank you Chris! Our gardener is not only a wonderful person, she is very talented.  Look at some of the photo's taken recently.

Dining Room Staff at the Bar Harbor Inn

I loaned the camera to one of my fellow employees the other day.....and when it was returned, I found a few pictures had been taken! 

I think our Dining Room and Terrace Grille staff are a great bunch and would like to see themselves on the blog! So.. the following pictures are members of our terrific Dining Room team, make sure you tell them when you visit that you saw their picture on the blog!

 

Kids in the Bake Shop at the Bar Harbor Inn

Another fun time for the "kids in the bake shop" at the Bar Harbor Inn!  July 8th Executive Chef Louis Kiefer spends time with the kids in the kitchen.  They all have fun and lots of laughs! Pastry Chef Janna helps out with some sugar goodies.

Bar Harbor Culinary Demo and Kitchen Tour

Executive Chef Louis Kiefer began his Summer program "Culinary Demo and Kitchen Tour" today.  The program will continue each Wednesday, 12 - 1pm until the end of Summer.
